The business landscape in Latin America and the Caribbean is mainly made up of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). While these smaller businesses represent an important force as the primary source of job creation in the Region, the barriers they face in accessing productive inputs, business skills and market opportunities largely hinder their true potential for growth and sustainability.
This gap between potential development and sustainable market opportunities can be narrowed by improving MSME access to knowledge and best business practices. Similarly, it is also important to involve key stakeholders in the sustainable and inclusive development of low income communities through partnerships.
