Quality and Environmental Standards for Small Businesses


COLOMBIA

While ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards may be foreign concepts to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), they are very familiar to the global marketplace. In Colombia, this project set out to raise awareness on the importance of incorporating these standards for quality assurance and environmental management into business operations, providing assistance for SMEs to do so. Consultants and auditors were also given technical training in order to build up the local network of quality and environmental management service providers.
