Fostering Growth through Equity Financing
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
The steel drum instrument or pan is a pitched percussion instrument, toned chromatically and made from a 55 gallon drum for storing oil. Drumming performance grew as a part of the carnival percussion groups beginning in the early 20th century, receiving influences from Africa and India. Today, the pan is considered the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago.
Panland, a company that produces pans in Port-of-Spain, has expanded its business thanks to a capital injection from Dynamic Equity Fund Ltd., an investment fund aimed at supporting the growth of SMEs in the country.
