The subsistence of hundreds of thousands of Dominicans depends on the money they receive from relatives living abroad. A FOMIN project shows how offering a variety of financial services that are complementary to remittance transfers has changed the lives of women by helping them to develop their own businesses.

  • ADOPEM Bank has provided access to new financial services and products to over 500 people
  • Specific financial products were designed such as a Health Card, Life and Accident Insurance, Home Loans, Savings for Vacations, Savings for School, and Business Start-Up Capital
  • 3,694 people have received training in business development, banking products, employment creation, finance, customer service, and human and community development.
