Applying these measures not only benefits the environment, but also helps companies to reduce fixed costs and boost competitiveness.

The project promotes cleaner production among companies in Nicaragua with both environmental and economic objectives.
SMEs have benefited from savings equivalent to 4% of net sales, while also reducing their average energy consumption by 7%, water use by 37%, waste generation by 1% and CO2 emissions by 7%.
71 consultants have been trained and certified in Cleaner Production.
251 SMEs have received technical assistance related to cleaner production.
