The taste of Costa Rican coffee is world renowned. The combination of an excellent climate, rich soil and the expert touch of Costa Rican coffee growers make this product very popular in international markets. 

Through a FOMIN project, three coffee cooperatives in the region of Los Santos have improved their management capacity and production processes, opening doors to new export markets and opportunities to sell the best cup of coffee at the fairest price.

Facts and Stats

  • Production, commercialization and other costs have gone down an average of 10%.
  • 24 technical consultancies on management and marketing were carried out with the participation of 250 people, including producers and other actors.
  • Producers have gotten certifications related to alternative niche markets such as fair trade coffee.
